What happens after I sign up?
We handle the setup, in this order:
- We submit a number port request on your behalf.
- We set up extensions for your users.
- We add your main greeting and call routing.
- We set up voicemail to text, if you’d like it.
- We ship your phones pre-programmed.
- You temporarily route your current number to Press8 while the port completes.
- Once your numbers are ported, you cancel your previous provider.
What happens in a demo?
A Press8 specialist walks you through the phone system, AI receptionist and anything else you want to see, using your own call flow as the example. Demos take about 30 minutes by video or phone, and there’s no obligation.
Can I keep my current phone numbers?
Yes. We port your existing numbers for you, and your current service keeps working until the port completes.
Do I need new phones?
Not necessarily. You can call from our desktop, web, iOS and Android apps, and we can tell you whether your current desk phones will work. If you want new ones, we include one Yealink T73U per user free with a three-year agreement.
Is there a contract?
No long-term contract is required. Choose monthly billing, or annual billing to save 10%. The free-phone offer requires a three-year agreement.
What happens if my internet goes down?
Your calls automatically reroute to another number you choose, like a cell phone, or go straight to voicemail. Your main auto attendant keeps answering and routing calls the whole time.
Does Press8 support 911?
Yes. Press8 provides Enhanced 911 (E911). Users can dial 911 directly from IP desk phones and softphones, in compliance with Kari’s Law and RAY BAUM’S Act.
Can you connect the PBX we already own?
Yes. Our SIP trunks connect SIP-compliant IP PBX systems to the Press8 network for local, long-distance and toll-free calling, so you keep your hardware and drop the PRI lines and gateways.
